Celsiusstraße

t minus 29 hours and counting

When I arrive in Berlin on Tuesday it's supposed to be 14 degrees Celsius. Which is not as bad as it sounds. It's about 57 *real* degrees.

Speaking of Celsius, I now live on Celsiusstraße:

Celsiusstraße 8

If you aren't up to the challenge of the writing the German letter 'ß' ('eszet', which apparently has no name in English? Fact checkers, go to work.) which is, frankly, one of the better letters in the world, you can be a wuss and replace it with a double 's'.

  1. Eszet is just a compound of the German names for the letters S and Z. So the English name would be pronounced ess-zee, or ess-zed if you're British.
